Use this chart to find your child’s division based on their birth date.
What’s New for Fall 2026
The division cutoff date has moved from December 31 to August 1. This change was made by AYSO, US Youth Soccer, and US Club Soccer in 2025.
Players born between August 1–December 31 are affected. For the Fall 2026 season, players with birthdays in this range will remain in the same division they were in during Fall 2025. Approximately 40% of Region 13 players will play an additional year in their current division as a result — for example, a player born in September may spend two years in 7U, or three years in 12U.
Children with birthdays between January 1–July 31 are not affected.

Ball Sizes
- Size 3: Ages 4U through 8U
- Size 4: Ages 10U through 12U
- Size 5: Ages 14U through 19U
Playing Up a Division
Requests to play up in the next higher division are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on total registration numbers, team formation, volunteer availability, and player ability. See AYSO national guidelines for more information.
One exception for Fall 2026: Players who were in 8U during Fall 2025 and participated in Grad Series in Winter 2026 are likely to have play-up requests approved. Contact registrar@ayso13.org to submit a request.
